Welcome to the 2012 Pollen Poll! We were very excited to see the strong interest in the poll. There were many thoughtful responses to our open ended questions, and we've picked ten from each to share. You can read all of the responses we got for both questions here and here. 

We'd like to remind you that the Pollen Poll is not scientific—we merely intend to show you a snapshot of the the thoughts and opinions of Pollenites in the context of the upcoming elections. Again, huge thanks to all that shared your opinions and thoughts.

You have often spoken of the importance of reaching across party lines and compromising. In a compromise situation, what of your own agenda would you be willing to concede?

What are the greatest challenges of moving from an industrial economy to a knowledge-based economy, and what is the role of government in navigating them, AND what are the greatest challenges of moving from a carbon-based energy model to green energy, and what is the role of government in navigating them?

 

According to a number of indicators (e.g., public health, education), the U.S. is losing ground to other countries. Getting past the notion of "American exceptionalism," please choose one key area where the U.S. is falling behind, and explain what you will do as president to improve it.

WANTED: Seeking selfless, long term oriented person with AMAZING communication skills. Must be comfortable speaking in public and approaching competitors in order to achieve long term success. Position requires qualified candidate to effectively listen to constituents and act on legislation that proves beneficial to all. Note: The chosen candidate will be reviewed daily by shareholders leading up to termination/renewal of contract, thus it is important for this person to be honest and fact-oriented in order to maintain the positive public perception.
