Volume 57: Inspiration

The Connect for Health Challenge has announced the 22 grantees for 2012, with one grant at $100,000 and 21 grants for up to $20,000.

Pollenites Judy Monn and Ellie Lucas at Hunger-Free Minnesota and Minnesota Public Radio are working with Henry Schafer Partners to promote the 'Good to Grow' concept for sharing garden produce with those in need. Their goal is to get people to donate food from their own gardens that they don't need. Click here to find a match fo a food shelf near you.

TED is currently accepting nominations for their TED prize until August 31. The award will be $1,000,000. TED encourages nominations of individuals with compelling wishes and ideas to bring them to action.

ZogSports, a coed social sports league for young professionals with a charity focus, has opened registration for touch football and volleyball. ZogSports donates 10% of profit to charity, and allows winning teams to select which charities receive donations.
